As new parents, after a dry run with an overfilled car to Norfolk we decided to venture further a field with our 15 month old son on holiday.
I had read reviews of Balearic Discovery and really liked the look of their website so contacted Jane with our huge list of requirements for our first family holiday abroad. Jane provided some great options on what I had asked for and also suggested things I hadn't considered, (we were looking at a villa and Jane recommended a villa on one level – details), as villa virgins Jane ensured that the items we weren't able to bring were provided and in place on arrival. Also a great suggestion, which worked out really well for us was extending our trip by 3 days and splashing out on a lovely hotel: The Cala San Vicente situated on the coast, so we got to experience a villa and hotel holiday as a family. Jane organised a garden suite at the hotel which meant that when our son was in bed asleep at night we could enjoy a romantic drink on the terrace and lounge on the sofas. As it was a small hotel (Jane's suggestion) meals/bottles/lovely cot were organised beautifully.
The care and attention Jane took to all of my endless requirements and emails was outstanding, as a new mum travelling overseas with a toddler it all seemed really daunting. Jane, (very subtly) held my hand through the organisation process and was endlessly patient with my emails asking about the size of the cot (I really did ask) and whether the windows had shutters or if I would need to bring blackout material for the windows etc. Jane also provided beach and restaurant information – taking into consideration our specific requirements. The kind of service you would never receive from a large operator or if you booked it yourself via the internet.
Now we are seasoned travellers (this trip our baggage was actually under the allowance) we have just returned from a long weekend in Mallorca at Es Castell which Balearic organised for us. Jane organised a ground floor room, with a lovely cot. Es Castell is a wonderful rural hotel, ideal for a young family or couple looking for somewhere beautiful to spend a few days somewhere special.
Balearic Discovery have access to the most beautiful and unique properties on the island, its obvious they know each hotel in detail and will organise you and your family a tailor made memorable holiday. We wouldn't dream of travelling to Mallorca without them.
