What's on during the Winter - Winter sees the island come to life with fiestas and sports. Mallorca has an abundance of cultural and sporting activities including golf, tennis, padel tennis, cycling and hiking. The hard-core can even indulge in canyoning this season. Alternatively, wander and become captivated by the romance of old town, Palma de Mallorca, and indulge in the fabulous shopping and tapas trail. Kids love the Three Kings Celebration.
December: The golfing community comment that early December is one of the best times of the year to play golf on the island. Whilst this is an all year game, the opportunity to play a round of golf in the sun whilst the rain beats down in northern Europe can't be missed. A great antidote to the pre-Christmas frenzy and a superb escape from the greyness of winter.
January: If you are feeling the need for some peace and quiet then we can provide you with some great yoga and spiritual retreats around the island. Practise the various activities by day, and curl up in front of an open fire in the evening, a wonderful way to unwind following last months festivities.
February: The warmer weather, reduced winds and dawn of spring sees the outdoor activities begin in earnest. From mid-February the cycling season begins and late February sees the Mallorcan cycling championships; a pre-cursor for Tour de France athletes. If you want something more gentle we would recommend exploring the island on mountain bikes at a lower level, or enjoying the scenery via some of our guided walks and treks.
It is also a good time for making the most of snuggling up to the one you love on St Valentine's day in one of our romantic retreats. Adding to the ambience, February sees the beginning of the blossoms appearing on the almond trees making Mallorca a blanket of white and pink. We offer some special almond blossom breaks where you can enjoy the spectacle from the comfort of your terrace arm chair.
The last week before lent sees carnival time with fiestas taking place in towns dressed up with streamers, floats, and fancy dress. Street fires mark the event and the advent of lent sees partying before the fast.
