Welcome to cookery Mediterranean style. Our three day workshops are aimed at the enthusiastic amateur who enjoys spending time in the kitchen and would like to learn new skills, or improve existing ones. Based in a lovingly restored town house in Sineu, a pretty rural town in central Mallorca, the cookery workshops follow a relaxed and informative schedule.
Thursday evening guests will be welcomed with a glass of wine and nibbles to the town house which will be the base of the cookery break. Early the next morning Tyrone the chef will take the group to the Mercat Olivar in Palma where he will provide a cooks guide to produce buying. After selecting ingredients for the afternoon cookery class guests will head back to the villa for a lunch of Mallorcan cheeses and hams. The cookery workshop will focus on preparing the ingredients from the mornings shopping, delicious fresh meats and fish, preapred in marinades and pastes to be cooked on a grill for evening dinner.
Saturday sees clients visiting a different market and selecting ingredients for the afternoon cookery class which will focus on planning and producing a gala dinner for the group in the evening. After a trip to the market there will be a visit to Mallorca's leading vineyard. Here a private guided tour will explain the history of Mallorcan wine and how this industry, that nearly died out, has returned with full force to produce international award winning wines. Tasting of course will form part of this tour along with a selection of delicious Mallorcan produce provided by the vineyard.
In true Mallorcan style Sunday will see a relaxed start before preparing a Spanish lunch using the market ingredients. After lunch prepare to leave, pack your cases with your new recipes, and newly discovered wine and head home to produce magnificent meals for family and friends.
The workshops have been designed to be fun and enjoyable whilst imparting useful skills and recipes that are easily replicated at home. The chef Tyrone Power has worked internationally and his CV includes private cheffing for the wealthy, catering aboard mega yachts and feeding The Rolling Stones on their last world tour. His excellent knowledge and superb food skills will ensure this weekend leaves you feeling inspired and excited by Mediterranean food.
