Eating and drinking is one of the favourite past times of Palmas occupants and visitors. Below we've selected a very small number out of the very large choice of restaurants. We've eaten in them all and hence can reccommend them from real experience.
Not to be confused with the Museum, this restaurant offers an excellent Mallorcan eating experience by serving traditional dishes with a contemporary twist. A typical selection from the menu might include a parfait of wild mushrooms, roasted pork in a honey sauce, cod served a la mallorquina (with tomatoes and peppers) and yummy puddings. Price per head is around 40€ (without drinks). This has the reputation for serving the best Mallorcan food in Palma.

Calling itself a Salamanca restaurant the food served is modern Spanish cuisine and may include white blood sausage in a broth, a version of tapas for even the most hungry and tender steaks and meats cooked to your liking. Big white plates suit the stylish, rich interior and with its central but quiet location is perfect for those looking for something off the beaten track.

Open daily from mid-day to mid-night this is a real taste of good old fashioned elegance set with an amazing view across the marina. The view stretches across to the Cathedral and is a superb setting for a romantic, top end dinner. The menu is mainly fish related and if you are looking for good old fashioned style service this takes some beating.

In one of Palma's up-and-coming areas, near the Santa Catalina market, this is a tiny and intimate restaurant with a growing reputation. Whilst on week days it is an excellent choice for a Menu del Dia, on Saturdays they also offer a chef's menu – 3 courses and dessert for 18€. Fresh, Mediterranean food prepared, and oftern served by the young Madrileno chef. Book in advance for Saturday lunch time, and allow plenty of time to find a car parking space!

Located in C/Blanquerna, the best in regional Spanish cuisine and tapas can be found at this modern style Tasca. Situated in a hip location this venue offers a vibrant eatery serving tapas on a relaxed terrace or mouth watering traditional Spanish dishes accompanied by a great selection of wine. The menu places a strong emphasis on local produce, organic ingredients and sustainability, and in doing so serves authentic national dishes with a sprinkle of Fosh magic. Tel +34 971 290 108
Ceviche, Indian Salad, and Thai curry, are just a few of the menu options inspired by Dukes' surfing owners global travels. The guys who've travelled extensively names the restaurant for surfing legend Duke Kahanamoku and there's no doubt surfing life has played a significant part in the style and decor which is as fresh and natural as the food. A chilled ambience make this a cool venue for dinner. +34 971 071 738
Situated in a little street just around the corner from the Plaza Major, Bar España is worth seeking out for its great atmosphere, lively staff and superb selection of food. The bar is popular with locals who go to enjoy the nightly feast of freshly made tapas appearing from the tiny kitchen around 8.30pm. Help yourself and the bar man will keep count even if, like me, you don't. Opened this year the restaurant side puts a more formal spin on the food. Tel 971 724 234
