La Posada del Marques
The Posada del Marques is in a stunning location, perched on the side of the La Fita del Rams mountain, 500m above the central plain of Mallorca and with views that can rarely be bettered on the island. The winding approach to the hotel from Esporles, along the Es Verger valley, is equally beautiful.
The house itself is a 16th century manor house, and retains a real sense of opulence with deep reds and golds used throughout the decoration. The rooms are spacious and welcoming.
The terrace areas look towards the lovely view. In addition to the swimming pool you will find gym equipment, a sauna, and an outside jacuzzi with a view that invites you to spend the day submerged there. The hotel is surrounded by pretty gardens and even boasts its own private chapel.
The hotel restaurant, Sa Tafona, which retains the original machinery of the olive press that gave it its name, offers a menu is based on the best of Mediterranean cuisine.
The pretty village of Esporles is 4 km away, and Palma a further 15 minutes drive. There is excellent walking and cycling in the surrounding Sierra de Tramuntana range, and both Valldemossa and Deia are nearby.
